At IWA 2018 in Nuremberg, Haenel expanded its range of Competition Rifles (CR) with the newly introduced CR308. With the CR in caliber .308 Winchester, the Suhl company presents the "bigger and stronger brother" of the CR variant. The dimensions of the rifle have been adapted to the caliber; otherwise, it functionally and in handling corresponds to the Haenel CR gas-operated series. The universal caliber .308 Winchester promises high performance reserves combined with a universal and widely used cartridge. Through this expansion of their product portfolio in the area of indirect gas-operated rifles, Haenel addresses both the civilian market and the law enforcement market. Barrel lengths of 16.65" and 20" remain identical as with the CR223. In terms of weight, the CR 308 is in the normal average with values between 3.35 kg and 3.6 kg. Direct trigger with a trigger weight of 3200 grams or version with a match trigger (trigger weight 1500 grams) orderable caliber: .308 Winchester.
