Klaus Weisskirchen was born in 1943 in a small house on the edge of the forest in the Oberbergischer Kreis. Already as a 10-year-old student, he often roamed the forest and tried to interpret the voices of the forest animals in order to imitate them. At 14, he trained as a gunsmith.
