Walther PP caliber 7.65 Browning. Lower Saxony The Walther PP is a semi-automatic pistol made by the German firearms manufacturer Carl Walther GmbH. The model designation PP stands for Polizeipistole (police pistol). Developed by Fritz Walther, one of the five sons of the company’s founder Carl Wilhelm Freund Walther, the Walther PP revolutionized the design of double-action pistols from 1929 onward as the first pistol with a high-quality, reliable double-action trigger. The compactness and reliability of the Walther PP pistol made it—and continue to make it—a popular companion for hunters for trapping, dispatching wounded game and self-defense. The markings Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Ulm/Do. PP Cal.7,65mm, along with the Walther loop and Made in W Germany, are engraved on the left side of the slide. The proof year HH on the grip indicates that it was manufactured in 1977. The stamped horse on the frame next to the serial number indicates its use. Technical description Walther PP Top 7,65 Brow.
