Combination guns for versatile use. The Blaser Bergstutzen gives hunters every option.
Many hunters in mixed small and big game areas appreciate having two different calibers in one firearm. The smaller barrel sits inside a carrier tube and can be precisely adjusted to the larger one. Thanks to its reliable two-lock system, the Blaser Bergstutzen BS 97 offers the advantage of allowing a second shot to be fired very quickly without recocking if needed. The system is extremely easy to operate and ergonomically designed.
Trigger and action
The Blaser Bergstutzen BS 97 features a double-trigger system with two locks. The rifle is carried uncocked and cocked only immediately before firing. With its double-trigger system and two locks, the firearm remains cocked on the second barrel after the first shot is fired. This makes it possible to fire a second shot very quickly without recocking if needed. The System 97 is therefore especially useful for hunters who often want to take advantage of the opportunity for quick doubles. The front trigger generally operates the lower barrel, and the rear trigger the upper barrel. The direct triggers break with incredible crispness, making a set trigger unnecessary. When the action is opened or the action lever is operated, the lock automatically decocks, providing another safety feature alongside the manual cocking system.
Barrel and receiver
Thanks to the free-floating barrels, point of impact remains consistently precise on follow-up shots, regardless of which barrel was fired first. Each barrel can vibrate and expand freely, and its point of impact is unaffected by the other barrel. Thanks to the well-engineered technology Blaser has stood for over decades, adjustment can be carried out easily by a specialist. Switching to a different caliber or model is simple and cost-effective. Within the B 97 line, the firearm type can also be changed by replacing the barrel assembly: the over-and-under combination gun becomes a drilling, and the over-and-under rifle becomes an over-and-under combination gun or a drilling, and vice versa. The barrel assembly also comes with standard open sights. The steel-gray anodized receiver features finely crafted game engravings on the sides and subtle arabesque engravings on the top. The beautifully rendered roe deer scene on the left side and the elegant depiction of wild boar in their natural habitat are truly exceptional. The receiver’s shape harmonizes with the lines of the entire over-and-under combination gun, creating an elegant blend of classic and modern design.
Stock
The BS 97 has an attractive stock made from Grade 4 wood. The buttstock features a Bavarian cheekpiece. The stock comb has a comfortable, ergonomic profile. The pronounced pistol grip provides a secure hold and ends in a flat black cap. The pistol grip and fore-end feature finely cut checkering, ensuring an optimal, firm grip in all weather conditions. The stock also has sling swivel fittings. At just 3.4 kg, the Bergstutzen’s low weight completes the technical and functional advantages of this rifle.
