Excellent Beretta Model 1934 pistol, modified GDF version. This famous and highly sought-after batch (consisting of just 6,327 examples in total) features substantial technical modifications compared with the standard Beretta 34. It has a longer barrel: measuring 97 mm (about 1 cm longer than the standard 86–89 mm). This modification protruded slightly from the slide and provided about 20 m/s more muzzle velocity. The lighter trigger pull: The trigger pull was reduced to 1.5 kg thanks to a lighter hammer spring, improving shooting accuracy. The flat-base magazine: The standard pinky rest (the classic “fin”) was removed from the modified service magazines to make them easier to conceal, leaving a flat baseplate. The entire series belongs to the “T” serial number block (specifically T3891 to T10217) and features the “G.F.” marking stamped directly above the serial number on the frame. There are two collectible variants. Within the modified batch from the 1970s, two main variants can be distinguished based on the year of production:
1st type (1977 slides / serial numbers approximately < T5000): Still fitted with the historic Filbak grips (black Bakelite with a sheet-metal core).
2nd type (1978–1979 slides / serial numbers > T6000): Fitted with wraparound black plastic grips featuring the Beretta logo with 3 arrows. This version does not have the classic lanyard ring.
The barrel and action are excellent, with the original bluing intact. A genuine collector’s piece and a common firearm.
