- Condition: good cosmetic and mechanical condition, restored stock
- Details: rifle manufactured at Enfield, MkIV Pattern 1, 1887. Initially a reduced-caliber .402 version, produced in 65,000 units but never issued to the army. The extended opening lever and the receiver also distinguish it from the standard .577 models. With the advent of smokeless powder in 1886, the .402 rifles were converted to .577 as "Pattern 1". Later used in Nepal and issued to native troops (NS stamp, "Native Service").
