IC = Illumination Control

At ZEISS, IC stands for Illumination Control.
It’s their own system for automatically switching the illuminated aiming point (reticle) on and off.

How does it work?

The reticle illumination (the red dot) switches on automatically as soon as you bring the riflescope into the shooting position.

When you put the firearm down again or move it into a non-use position, the illumination switches off automatically.

This is made possible by a small angle and/or tilt sensor in the riflescope.
