The Spiritus Systems ANVIS Lid Snake was designed for anyone using night vision devices that require a battery and need a secure, quick way to attach and remove it. The cables connecting your battery are delicate and can easily be damaged or disconnected from your helmet. There are two traditional approaches to mitigating this problem. 1) Tape the entire length of the cable to secure it to the helmet. The problem is that you can’t easily remove the battery from the helmet for airborne operations or maintenance. 2) Route the cable under the helmet between the pads. This option lets you remove the battery quickly, but creates a dangerous situation where the cable can’t disconnect if the battery or NVDs get caught on another object. The Lid Snake eliminates these problems and also provides abrasion protection for your battery cable. This flexible two-piece assembly adapts to unique helmet configurations and is sized to be used as a single piece on flight helmets.
