Group camping · Tipi · Polycotton
Robens Kiowa: a spacious base camp for up to 10 people The Kiowa combines a tall tipi design with a covered entrance and a zip-in groundsheet. It’s suited to camping trips where plenty of space and headroom matter more than a low packed weight.
Before choosing: The stated capacity of ten people is the supplier’s figure. Camp beds, luggage and a possible tent stove require extra space. At 25.1 kg, the Kiowa is designed for camps you can reach by vehicle.
Check space requirements and intended use

A good fit if … … you’re looking for a large tent for family or group camping and will transport it to the campsite by vehicle.
… a tall interior, a sheltered entrance and a removable groundsheet suit your camp.

Probably not a good fit if … … you need a lightweight trekking tent for daily moves between campsites.
… your pitch can’t accommodate the 580 × 450 cm footprint plus guy lines, or you want to comfortably fit ten people with extensive gear.

Design and benefits

Height and central pole The 320 cm exterior height creates a tall central area. The aluminum central pole is part of the design; its position must be considered when arranging the interior.
g of the sleeping areas should be taken into account.

HydroTex Polycotton The outer fabric is made of 65% polyester and 35% cotton. The supplier describes it as breathable. Ventilation is still necessary; condensation cannot be ruled out in damp weather.

Zip-in groundsheet The zip-in groundsheet is made of 210T Oxford polyester. The stated 10,000 mm hydrostatic head applies to the groundsheet and must not be applied to the outer tent.

Covered entrance and windows The large entrance area and two windows support access and ventilation. Openings should be adjusted depending on the weather and how the tent is being used; a closed tent is no substitute for adequate air exchange.

Limitations and common buying mistakes

Don't confuse the number of people with usable living space: ten sleeping places leave less room for luggage and camping furniture than a smaller occupancy.
Single-wall construction: The Kiowa is described as a single-wall tent. The available information does not mention a separate inner tent.
A stove pipe outlet is not general approval for a stove: Relags lists an outlet for a stove pipe and use with a Robens tent stove. Before use, check the specific stove model, the flue fitting and all manufacturer clearances against the relevant instructions.

Technical specifications with context

Outer dimensions 580 × 450 × 320 cm. Allow extra space for guy lines and clear access when planning your pitch.

Inner dimensions 450 × 450 cm according to the supplier. The usable layout also depends on the poles, sleeping gear and luggage.

Transport 25.1 kg; packed size 93 × 28 cm. Adequate storage space and a suitable transport route are required.

Poles and materials Aluminum poles; center pole 25.5–52 mm. HydroTex Polycotton outer fabric, 210T Oxford polyester groundsheet.

Identification Model Kiowa; Relags item number 152134; EAN 5709388077455. Manufacturer specifications apply to this version.

Safety and care

Set up and secure the tent according to the manufacturer's instructions. Keep tent fabric away from flames and hot objects. Use stoves or heaters only if their instructions and the tent instructions allow the specific use; observe ventilation and clearances. When using a tent stove, you also need the correct flue fitting, heat protection and carbon monoxide protection.
Dry completely before storing for an extended period, and check the fabric, zippers and guy points. This description does not replace the manufacturer's instructions.

FAQ about the Robens Kiowa
Is the Kiowa suitable for backpacking? At 25.1 kg and with a packed size of 93 × 28 cm, it's much better suited to a group or family camp where transport is provided than to a backpacking trip. Do the 10,000 mm hydrostatic head rating also apply to the outer tent? No. The available information explicitly applies this rating to the groundsheet. The source does not give a corresponding rating for the Polycotton outer fabric. Is a tent stove included? A stove is not listed as part of the package. According to the supplier, the stove pipe outlet allows use with a Robens tent stove; check the specific combination against the manufacturer's instructions. How much space does setup require? The outer dimensions are 580 × 450 cm. You'll also need space for guy lines, safe access and, if applicable, the required stove clearances.
