Hunting version with hand-engraved game scene.

The Merkel K5 is designed for dynamic elegance—and yet is 100% functional. The rifle’s newly defined lines stretch from the buttstock with its slight hogback, along the forend extended with fine rosewood, to the 17 mm barrel, like a big cat in mid-leap.

Brilliant engineering in a new look and feel: The falling block is extremely short and locks steel on steel, as is typical for Merkel. Technical sophistication, a new combination of stock, action and barrel lines, and refined functionality: all in all, a rifle with a net weight of just 2.3 kilograms and exceptionally handy dimensions.

The removable falling-block action is the heart of the K5: it locks steel on steel, is extremely light and compact, and is safe. The titanium-nitride-coated breechblock is removable, making the firearm quick and easy to render inoperable. The single-lock system with removable hunting falling-block action features a separate manual cocking system.

The new manual cocking system operates completely silently and is even easier to use—it requires almost no finger pressure. The redesigned trigger system is adjustable for length and lateral position. With a trigger pull of just 600 g and a wider trigger blade, the Merkel K5 is easy to use with any finger and hand size.

The pistol grip, forend and patent fastener are finished in elegant ebony. The buttstock, made from Grade 4 wood, features removable sling swivels and a Bavarian cheekpiece with a double cheekpiece.

The 17 mm barrels feature the universal i-Sight sighting system with a covered M15x1 muzzle thread. A single hex screw lets you remove the rear and front sights, and move the front sight back—depending on whether you want to shoot with a suppressor, without sights or with a muzzle brake.

The sling swivels feature Merkel’s new Speedster system and are also removable.
