ProHunt engineering for the precision and longevity of your rifled barrel:
Anti-friction brass rods and rotating guide handle
The ProHunt cleaning kit is specially designed to preserve the internal geometry and ballistic integrity of medium-high velocity rifled barrels. It includes 3 sturdy solid brass rods that screw firmly together to form a long rigid rod. The brass has been carefully selected for its mechanical properties of relative softness compared to steel: it eliminates any risk of scratching, denting or wear of the bore and the muzzle crown during successive passes.
The top rod is topped with a rotating polymer handle. This pivoting system is essential to allow the brush to faithfully follow the barrel’s helical rifling twist without forcing, ensuring optimal cleaning at the bottom of the grooves.
Set of 4 brushes for a complete cleaning protocol:
To ensure methodical and effective maintenance, the kit comes with 4 complementary brushes adapted to the exact diameter of 7mm and .270 calibers:
The brass/bronze brush:
Mechanically strips copper, lead and burnt carbon deposits embedded at the bottom of the grooves after shooting.
The nylon / stiff bristle brush:
Scrubs and loosens black or pyroxylin powder residues previously dissolved by your solvent.
The soft wool brush:
Perfect for the final polishing of the bore or to apply a fine protective oil film against corrosion before storage.
The jag:
Allows pushing fabric patches to wipe the inside of the barrel until they come out perfectly clean.
Why this ProHunt cleaning kit is essential for your rifle?
Ideal multi-caliber compatibility:
One kit to maintain the most popular hunting rifles in Europe.
Preservation of ballistic precision:
Regular cleaning removes copper fouling which, accumulated shot after shot, degrades the consistency and grouping of your bullets at long range.
A field-ready portable format:
Housed in a compact case, it easily fits into a backpack pouch or carrying case for quick cleaning after the hunt.
The reference accessory for maintenance after stalking or driven hunts
This cleaning kit is the essential tool for all users of big game rifles using 7mm calibers, whether used for stalking and stand hunting (where sub-MOA precision is required) or for driven hunts and stand shooting. Repeated shots, weather (rain, forest humidity) and condensation on the barrel require rigorous maintenance. Using the ProHunt brushes after each outing protects the barrel from rust pitting and ensures the mechanical function of the firearm as well as the consistency of its point of impact.
FAQ and expert advice:
In which direction should the rods and brushes be passed inside the barrel?
To avoid damaging the barrel’s muzzle crown, which is crucial for bullet precision, always clean from the chamber towards the muzzle (in the direction the bullet travels). Insert the rod through the open bolt action, push the brush until it fully exits the barrel, then pull back...
Slowly turn it. Never change the direction of rotation or push in the middle of the barrel. Can I use this kit to clean a rifle in caliber 30-06 or 300 Win Mag? This kit is specifically calibrated for the diameter of the bullets. The brushes will be too loose and won’t create enough friction if you use them in a barrel. For these larger calibers, we recommend the ProHunt kit version dedicated to caliber .30. How do I clean the brushes after they have accumulated carbon and solvent? To extend the life of your brushes, clean them after use. Soak the bronze and nylon brush in some degreaser or warm soapy water to dissolve the shooting solvent residues. Dry them thoroughly with a clean cloth before putting them back in their box to prevent black carbon from staining the white wool brush.
