MAUSER 1895 CHILENO CAL. 7X64

It was in 1895 that Chile adopted a slightly improved version of the Spanish Mauser Mle 1893.

The differences are as follows:

- the bolt head lacks a flat surface on its lower part,
- a device prevents the trigger from acting when the bolt is not fully closed,
- when the bolt is closed, the rear of the bolt lever base rests on a shoulder machined at the rear of the receiver. This arrangement strengthens the bolt locking.
- the rear of the elevator plate is chamfered, allowing the bolt to close on an empty chamber without manually operating this plate.
