BSA FAL L1A1

A TRUE PIECE OF THE COLD WAR:

L1A1 SLR (BSA 1962)

When you approach a firearm like this, resting on our gun shop bench, you immediately feel the weight of history. We’re not talking about an ordinary object, but a silent witness to an era that redefined global geopolitical balances.

Looking at it in its magnificent original condition, with warm, worn wood that tells decades of service and training, we face an L1A1 SLR (Self-Loading Rifle), the British and Commonwealth variant of the famous Belgian-born design.

The History and Origin of this Example

Examining the markings on the mechanism closely, we discover the unique identity of this specific piece:

Construction and Year: The stamps reveal the code UB, which in the British military system identifies the glorious BSA (Birmingham Small Arms Company), accompanied by the production year: 1962.

The Serial Number and Official Markings: On the firearm’s body stands the official engraving “RIFLE 7.62 MM L1A1” followed by the serial number A152716.

The Proof Marks: The barrel bears the original stamps of the prestigious Birmingham proof house (B P E), a historical guarantee and certification of its military authenticity.

The Caliber: Chambered in the generous and high-performing 7.62×51 mm NATO (308 Winchester), a cartridge that on this platform delivers extraordinary stability and precision.

The Charm of Tradition Meets Modernity

If the soul of this rifle smells of British history and old shooting ranges, the configuration chosen for this example winks at the needs of the modern shooter.

The firearm is already equipped with a solid upper Picatinny rail mounted firmly on the receiver. This means you won’t have to worry about modifications or adaptations: you can immediately mount your favourite scope, combining the unmistakable flavour of a historic collector’s piece with the aiming precision of a modern system.

A unique opportunity for those seeking a firearm with immense charisma, ready both for the finest collection and exciting range sessions. We’re waiting for you at the gun shop to admire it live!
