HORNADY Bullets ELD-MATCH .308" 178GR 100CT.

ELD® Match (Extremely Low Drag Match) bullets are technologically advanced, exceptionally accurate bullets featuring a Heat Shield® tip with a perfect meplat, combined with numerous design features that deliver the highest ballistic coefficients in their class, superior accuracy, and extreme consistency from bullet to bullet and lot to lot. All conventional polymer tips from other manufacturers melt during flight. While testing what would become the ELD-X hunting bullet, Hornady® engineers used Doppler radar to discover that all materials used in the tips of streamlined, high-ballistic-coefficient bullets melt and deform during flight, reducing the ballistic coefficient and degrading accuracy, especially at longer ranges (over 365 m). To mitigate this effect, Hornady® identified a heat-resistant polymer and developed the patented Heat Shield® tip. This revolutionary tip creates the perfect apex for the bullet. This groundbreaking technology made it possible to create the most advanced match bullet on the market: the ELD® Match bullet. The ELD® Match bullet delivers superior accuracy and an industry-leading ballistic design. The secant ogive and boat-tail, combined with the patented Heat Shield® tip, create a bullet with the highest possible ballistic coefficient in its class. Verified with Doppler radar, the ballistic coefficient of ELD® Match bullets does not change during flight, thanks to the structural integrity of the Heat Shield® tip. The bullet delivers outstanding consistency, with no ballistic coefficient degradation at long range.
