The Ultraleggero writes a new chapter in the history of lightweight over-and-under shotguns, making possible what has never been achieved before: offering all the solidity and reliability of a steel action with an extremely low weight, which until now was only possible with aluminum rifles. Thanks to the most modern engineering techniques, it was possible to “skeletonize” the action, reducing it to only the fundamental structural elements for the firearm’s solidity and performance.

The result is a lightweight but robust shotgun, allowing the roaming hunter to arrive more focused, fresher, and faster on the prey. Enjoy the hunt, the weight of the shotgun will no longer be an obstacle.

Aluminum trigger guard

The single trigger has the selector positioned inside the safety slider which, with a simple and quick lateral movement, allows you to select the barrel to fire the first shot.

The Ultraleggero is also available in a further configuration with double single trigger, which allows you to select the firing order of the two barrels of the over-and-under, without moving your finger from the trigger: the first trigger fires first barrel then second, the second trigger fires first the second barrel then the first, allowing you to quickly decide and select the barrel based on the distance of your target.

Techno-polymer inserts:

Special techno-polymer inserts have been made for the hollowed areas of the action, whose design reinterprets the taste of a floral engraving obtained thanks to a very modern technology that creates special angles on the surface capable of simulating the visual effect of light reflectance typical of steel engravings.

This creates a pleasant effect on the floral pattern and the name “Ultraleggero” that appear and disappear when rotating the action in the light: this aesthetic detail, combined with the matte black bluing of the action and the glossy black pins, unmistakably characterizes the Ultraleggero.

Skeletonized steel action

Derived from the 690 series, the Ultraleggero’s action features the proven locking system with the iconic trapezoidal lugs and double conical pins, but this time presents an extraordinary innovation regarding structure and weight reduction.

After careful studies and field tests, the sides and the front of the action have been hollowed out, keeping only the amount of metal really necessary to guarantee the usual Beretta reliability and resistance to repeated explosions of any type of cartridge, even magnum, making the Ultraleggero surprisingly lighter without compromising its robustness.

The 76mm chamber allows firing any type of cartridge up to 56 grams: lead, steel, and steel HP ammunition.

Aluminum cross system:

The cross is derived from the new system adopted on the 694, but in this case, to keep the weight down, it has been made of aluminum: with this cross, you always have a great feeling when opening the firearm thanks to the revised geometries and the new tenon. The fore-end attachment system has also been revised and consists of a piston pin in an advanced position, separate from the cross, with a button that self-adjusts over time.

Stock with weight relief cuts

The cavity in the stock has been increased: this allowed saving 129 grams compared to another Beretta shotgun.

The pistol grip stock and the fore-end are made with selected walnut woods in class 2.5 with an oil finish that allows easy restoration from scratches or damage in case of particularly extreme use.
The woods, besides for their class, are selected based on their weight and density, always choosing the lightest ones to achieve perfect balance even with the shortest barrels.

The stock is available with a 35/55 drop (also for left-handed shooters) or in the Vittoria version, with a 35/45/55 drop.

The Extralight® Recoil Pad

The Extralight® recoil pad is 30% lighter than a standard recoil pad and much more resistant to abrasion, aging, and weather conditions, thanks to its closed-cell structure that prevents liquid absorption.

All while offering comfort and stability when shouldering, with excellent recoil absorption.

OptimaBore HP Barrels:

The Ultraleggero uses the famous Steelium Optima Bore HP barrels, made of Beretta’s triple-alloy steel, available in lengths of 61 cm, 66 cm, 71 cm, and 76 cm, featuring deep drilling, cold hammer forging, and vacuum stress relief.

The special geometry, with an 80-millimeter double taper, is designed to offer excellent performance and consistently perfect and uniform shot patterns, while reducing recoil and muzzle rise.

The solid 6×6 top rib has a precise anti-reflective checkering and a spherical steel front sight.

OptimaChoke HP Chokes

The Ultraleggero is designed for use with 70 mm long internal Optima-Choke HP chokes, also perfect with steel shot.

The Ultraleggero, like other Beretta shotguns, can also be equipped with the Paradox OCHP choke, a choke with rifling in the last 50 mm that allows wider shot patterns at short distances, while maintaining good pellet density and uniformity. This type of choke is an optimal solution for the first barrel when hunting in dense woods, where visibility is usually limited to 10/15 meters.

Paradox chokes are available aftermarket in internal or extended 20 mm versions.
