Die Gen4 Pistolenmodelle haben darüberhinaus einige Neuerungen zu bieten, die sie noch anwenderfreundlicher gestalten.
Das Design der Gen4 basiert auf einem Modular Back Strap (MBS) Griffstück mit einem eingebauten Short Frame Steuerblock. Das MBS Griffstück erlaubt dem Schützen, den Umfang des Griffstücks zu verändern und an die jeweilige Handgröße anzupassen. Es gibt drei Griffstückgrößen: kurz (SF-Frame), mittel (Standard Griffstückgröße) und groß, der Griffschalenaustausch ist sehr schnell und einfach durchzuführen. Bei Verwendung einer optionalen Griffschale wird der Griffwinkel der GLOCK "Safe Action" Pistole nicht verändert, was eine Abweichung vom gewohnten Trefferbild ausschließt.
