The new Merkel K5 rifle: slimmer, more agile and, according to Merkel, a bit more beautiful than its predecessors.
The Merkel K5 is designed for dynamic elegance - and yet 100 percent functional. The newly defined line of the rifle stretches from the buttstock with its slight Monte Carlo cheekpiece over the fore-end extended with fine rosewood to the 17 mm thick barrel like a predator ready to pounce.
Brilliant technology in a new look and feel: The tilting block is extremely short and locks steel on steel, typical for Merkel. Technical sophistication, new design of stock, system and barrel as well as refined functionality: altogether a rifle with only 2.3 kilograms net weight and extremely manageable dimensions.
The removable tilting block bolt is the heart of the K5: it locks steel on steel, is extremely light, short and secure. The titanium-nitrided bolt block is removable, making the weapon quickly and easily non-operational. The locking system with removable hunter’s tilting block bolt features a separate manual cocking.
The new manual cocking works completely silently and is even easier to operate - almost no finger strength is needed anymore. The revised trigger system is adjustable in length and laterally. With a trigger pull of only 600 g and a wider trigger blade, the Merkel K5 can be comfortably operated with any finger and hand shape.
Pistol grip, fore-end and patent snap fasteners are elegantly finished with ebony. The buttstock of grade 4 stock wood features removable sling swivels and a Bavarian cheek with double notch.
The 17 mm diameter barrels feature the universal i-Sight system with covered M15x1 muzzle thread. With a single internal hex screw, rear sight and front sight can be removed, the front sight can also be repositioned - depending on whether shooting with suppressor, without sight or with muzzle brake.
The sling swivels are equipped with the new Merkel Helix Speedster system and are also removable.
