Smith & Wesson 629-4 Classic Powerport, 5'' barrel, .44 Mag., Performance Center, special edition (1996), Nill grips, S&W case, speedloader

For sale from first ownership is my Smith & Wesson Model 629-4 Classic Powerport in .44 Remington Magnum, featuring the exceptionally rare, handy 5-inch barrel with an integrated compensator. This firearm comes from the Smith & Wesson Performance Center (S&W logo on the frame and case plaque) and, as was customary, was officially proofed in Germany at the Suhl Proof House through the importer at the time. The revolver is built on the robust N-frame (Square Butt). The absolute highlight for enthusiasts:The sought-after generation (-4): Among S&W experts, the 629-4 (Dash 4) series is considered the most refined and best era of all. It comes from the factory with the “Endurance Package” (internal frame reinforcement), is machined entirely from solid stock, and still has no disliked internal lock (Pre-Lock) and no MIM cast parts. Combined with the Performance Center’s factory hand-tuning, the revolver offers an outstanding action.Exclusive 5-inch special edition: While longer 6.5-inch US models are often found online, this is the extremely rare 5-inch version (barrel length approx. 12.7 cm) with a full-length underlug, released as a limited special edition exclusively for the German market in the mid-1990s (the serial number prefix AKG indicates a 1996 production year).Integrated PowerPort: The factory-integrated compensator (venting gas upward in front of the front sight) provides excellent balance and noticeably tames muzzle rise when firing.Condition & history: About 10 years ago, a gunsmith properly replaced the small retaining ball for the cylinder crane latch under the barrel after the original ball was lost. The revolver is in very well-maintained condition. I estimate the round count at about 500 rounds, as this S&W was used for sport shooting for only one year and then only for hunting. As I plan to reduce my collection, this beautiful and reliable revolver is now for sale.Included and substantial accessory package:Smith & Wesson 629-4 Classic Powerport revolver as described.Original blue Smith & Wesson Performance Center carrying case (plastic, with foam insert and S&W-PC logo)Fitted ergonomic Nill wooden match grip with thumb rest and fine checkeringOriginal classic smooth Nill interchangeable grip (also N-frame Square Butt), including original grip screw1x matching Bianchi International holster (black nylon)3x HKS Speedloaders (Model 29)2x leather belt pouches for Speedloaders (1x double, 1x single, black)If you have any questions, feel free to message me before bidding.Purchase details (Important): I do not offer shipping.
